Salt Lake Places Eighth For Most Improved Commute

According to the latest report in Forbes magazine, Salt Lake City ranked as the number 8 most improved metropolitan city with an improved commute. However, it looks like the statistics were only pulled up until 2007 which means I don't think it was taking into account the latest improvements like FrontRunner and Legacy Highway that has Davis county residents singing hallelujah every morning! If it had, I think we would have ranked even higher on the list. Here are a few of the specific statistics:

8. Salt Lake City, Utah

Improvement in road construction versus traffic since 2000: -1.6% (20th best)

Commuters using public transit in 2000: 2.4% of metro residents

Commuters using public transit in 2007: 3.94% (6th best increase)

Traffic delays, per commuter, per year, due to congestion: 27 hours
